To start this project, I found 3 songs and created sketches for each. Below, I have posted one of them to the song Beautiful Things. I enjoyed the color and circular motions I was getting in correlation with the music.
For this project, I chose the song Beautiful Things by Benson Boone to make a 30-second abstract video in After Effects based on the sounds and emotions I had listened to in this song. I chose this song because I love the drop in the music and the different combinations of instruments. I knew I wanted to specifically use color and size to represent the beats of the music. I used the maroon circle for the more chill part of the song, and the bright pink for the more intense parts.
I used the turbulent effect to garner the feeling of the drums/bass going in and out, and the bright, quick circles for the high guitar strings. I also added colors to represent the feelings this song created, and to add to the bass of this song.
